Day School is a ministry of Kempsville Presbyterian
Church
Mission Statement
Kempsville Presbyterian
Church Day School (KPC Day School) is committed
to demonstrating the compassion of Jesus
Christ to preschoolers and their families.
Served by a staff of trained educators who
are steadfast followers of Christ, children
develop cognitively, socially, emotionally,
spiritually and physically within the context
of Christian principles. Prayer with and
for children and their families is a hallmark
of KPC Day School. In all activities, making
the Word of God known is the motivating
factor.

History
KPC Day School opened
its doors in September of 1982 to approximately
70 students and 15 employees. The Session
of Kempsville Presbyterian Church, along
with a few devoted individuals, started
this ministry because they recognized a
need for high quality childcare and education
for young children in a loving, Christian
environment. The school has now grown to
a staff of approximately 30 and a student
body of about 200 students.
Structure
KPC Day School teaches and provides care for children ages three years through kindergarten. In addition, we also serve public school children grades K-5 in a before/afterschool program.
We offer a morning preschool program for 3 and 4 year olds which is a structured early childhood program. Preschool classes meet for two (T/Th-3 year olds only), three (MWF) or five (M-F) mornings per week. Preschool hours are 8:45-11:45 AM. In addition, our Kindergarten program meets Monday through Friday with 2 short days and 3 long days (M/F 8:45 AM–12:30 PM; T/W/TH 8:45 AM–3:15 PM). This assists in preparing the students for full days of school in the elementary grades.
We also offer a childcare program from 7:00 AM until 6:00 PM for children of parents who need full-time care for their children. Extended care is available at an hourly rate for children whose parents desire occasional extended care beyond morning preschool or kindergarten hours. All children enrolled in our full day program attend morning preschool or kindergarten.
